Leadership

ACHA is governed by a General Assembly (GA), which is comprised of ACHA member representatives, an Advisory Board comprised of representatives of ACHA members and outside parties with related expertise, and a Secretariat.  The GA carries out the work of the organisation.

General Assembly

The GA is the governing body of ACHA and is comprised of representatives of ACHA members. The GA meets on an annual basis and is headed by a Chairperson elected by its members.

Coming soon: the first GA report.

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board (AB) provides advice and input to the GA and the Secretariat.  It is comprised of no more than six members, including representatives of the GA as well as outside parties with expertise in areas related to ACHA’s work.  The AB meets annually and is limited to a composition of 50 percent GA representatives and 50 percent outside parties.  Furthermore, at any given time, no more than one former member of the ACHA steering committee may sit on the AB as one of the three non-GA members.  AB members are elected for three year terms with re-election feasible only one time after initial election and only after the passing of two consecutive terms.

Coming soon: A list of ACHA’s Advisory Board members.

Secretariat

ACHA’s day to day functions are managed by a Secretariat based at its headquarters in Addis Ababa.  The Secretariat takes advice and guidance from the AB and is overseen by the GA.
