ACHA is a membership-based organization
located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It coordinates
and facilitates effective partnerships and service
delivery between member organizations as a means
of empowering them to take greater responsibility
and ownership over humanitarian action on the
continent.
Mission
Building on existing knowledge and expertise,
ACHA aims to unite and strengthen African civil
society organisations (CSOs), through stronger
partnership, increased learning and improved advocacy,
in order to achieve greater impact for vulnerable
communities.
Rationale
While African CSOs endeavour to give substance
to the concept of an African renaissance, it has
become obvious that increased unity and co-ordination
are necessary if we are to achieve greater recognition
of African capabilities and agendas, equal north-south
partnerships and increased influence in the humanitarian
sphere. |
